Welcome to mabaart – the small webdevelopment-agency of Matthias Baier. I provide nice webdesigns for a reasonable price because I don’t have to feed a whole agency with many employees. From draft to finished website I offer easy and complete services, so your company can run more smoothly.
To achieve this, I use WordPress, the renowned Content-Management-System. You can administer your company-site yourself. Create new pages and content even on the go via the wordpress-app. Using wordpress is easy, if you have learned the basics. Even small online-shops or booking-systems can be done. You need to server more than one language? No problem, too! Or do you need counseling, because your current site doesn’t just do what you need?
It was fun, attending Wordcamp Europe in Berlin again. After my last Wordcamp in Vienna in 2016 I was curious: Where is WordPress heading? What did I learn?
Gutenberg added a new layer of complexity to WordPress. And a lot of frameworks are now part of the CMS. But also CSS is more and more preprocessed before going live and the days, with handcoded CSS-files seem almost over. Or as the speaker Daniel Kanchev puts it: „Successful software never gets simpler.“ This increases the risk of potential security-issues and makes the code harder to take care about. More complex code on the other hand also means more features and it basically means WordPress becomes more powerful.
Gutenberg is the way to go now
Matt Mullenweg at WCEU 2019
Gutenberg is here and is still perceived as somewhere in beta-phase from some of the attendees, I met. Only a part of all attendees had been checking out Gutenberg, while it was still in plugin-phase. And to be honest, I was also only having a quick look around at that time. To many bugs. But now Gutenberg is part of WordPress’s core and the conference was packed with Gutenberg-Stuff and most of the attendees seemed to embrace Gutenberg. As Mat Mullenweg announced that WordPress is supposed to become multilingual, it is going to be an interesting time for multilanguage-plugin-developers.
What could be more beautiful than a test for wordpress sliders? Exactly: nothing!
Customers demand a slider for their catchy images on a regular basis. WordPress doesn’t provide slideshows out of the box so we use a plugin. Of course it is supposed to be responsive and look splendid on every mobile-device and not wasting bandwidth. But with images – it often get’s a bit more complicated. They can get pretty heavy and large and should not be squeezed via your cellular network. That’s why I test today.
And again there launches another web-project.
On casa-huelva.com you can find your dream-house in Andalucia. Like always this project uses wordpress as a CMS with a genesis-child-theme Agentpress Pro. My customer wanted to do as much as she could herself and mabaart was only repsonible for technical implementation in the background. Especially the widget-areas of wordpress creates almost always some questions. With Agentpress Pro theme almost the whole front-page is created through widgets.
